I'd like to meet you later on in the spring maybe, and write about what your are doing.

Regards, FerdzyFerdzyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10842130394749345902noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4853364739147871108.post-40630903050762127932011-08-28T21:20:27.379-04:002011-08-28T21:20:27.379-04:00Hi Irene. Let us know if you want stuff when you come to town or send your email and we will add you to the weekly email.
Luckily we don't have major problems with slugs. When we first planted the tomatoes, we put out beer in tupperware. Caught a few. Birds probably get most of them? We planted beets and lettuces next to radishes and the bugs liked the radish greens better. I read somewhere that you could sacrifice radishes to save lettuces and it worked!! We did lose alot of things like our arugula, celery, first round of carrots etc. We don't do much. Replant and sleep with fingers crossed ;) Next year we hope to afford floating row covers and a greenhouse which will help.
We are trying to share recipes with people who get the veg every week depending on whats available. We hope to have time after this season to put a recipe section on the blog. Great suggestion though. It's coming. Stand by. Thanks for the interest and support! The Veg Less Travelled - by Prairie Boyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00484191761759820381noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4853364739147871108.post-50961108465204684812011-08-08T22:36:43.366-04:002011-08-08T22:36:43.366-04:00I am so incredibly impressed at the quality of you...I am so incredibly impressed at the quality of your veggies. What are you using to deter slugs and all the other critters that usually destroy beets or lettuce or garlic, etc.? I get hungry whenever Lainie posts pics! Pat yourself on the back big time from me! Also, are you sharing recipes?Irene Sweeney Willishttp://www.facebook.com/irene.sweeney.willisnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4853364739147871108.post-5461207536612761012011-08-08T15:29:55.927-04:002011-08-08T15:29:55.927-04:00Now I'm starving; can't wait for more bask...Now I'm starving; can't wait for more basket action!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4853364739147871108.post-89520241866275436872011-08-08T13:25:28.908-04:002011-08-08T13:25:28.908-04:00I could not agree more Lainie. It is more thrilling than any computer game, because it is real and tangible (and edible).
