Terra Madre Dinner Pics

Here are some pics from the Terra Madre Day dinner. It was a really great night from beginning to end. Thank you to everyone who came and celebrated with us and to our fellow suppliers Sunrise Organics, Scotch Mountain Meats and Montforte Dairy. Last but not least thanks to Len for co-hosting such a great evening at The Rusholme Park Supper Club. We hope to have many more great nights at your wonderful space.

Terra Madre Dinner

December 10th is TERRA MADRE DAY

We felt celebrating Terra Madre Day was an excellent way to share how we feel about food and food politics.

The farm has given us so many amazing things this year. Most obviously, truckloads of amazing and delicious vegetables but also a number of other things that we didn't anticipate.

• New friends who value safe and local food as much as we do
• A 'home' for our produce and a place to meet, eat and discuss food. The Depanneur 
• A sense of community
• A connection to and respect for other farmers and their hard work
• Hope that we are making a difference
• Passion for something we believe in
• A solidarity to the millions of other farmers, eaters and chefs who are dedicated to healthy, safe, and delicious food.

We are celebrating with a dinner at Rusholme Park Supper Club.

Sadly this event is now SOLD OUT. Thanks everyone who got tickets early.

Garlic Planting for Dummies

Measure out a bunch of 100' rows
Dig 2400 holes
Take a clove of garlic
Put it in the ground pointy side up
Cover clove with soil
Be happy you only have 2399 left to plant
Wait til Spring 

New Salad Queen

Last weekend there was a subtle yet meaningful transfer of power. Since time began, I have been the Salad Queen but now the title goes to Jay, from Two Brothers. He made a salad using vegetables from our farm and it was so beautifully and artfully crafted that i couldn't even identify most things on the plate. Thank you Jay for blowing our minds and raising the salad "bar". Apparently you CAN make friends with salad! -Lainie
